Dreams
by Alicia Homan

Have you ever awoke in a cold sweat because you dreamt your dad just ran his car off a cliff in your back yard? I'm here to tell you that, for the most part, that will not happen. Dreams are a way your mind entertains you while you sleep. And while you thought that they don't mean anything; you're wrong! They do.

To understand your dreams you first need to remember them. If you have a dream and you think it is really important, write it down. This will help you by getting every thing down, so you can analyze it well.

The second step to understanding your dream is finding the theme. Finding the theme of a dream is easy, all you do is simply take away all the details; don't look at the dream piece by piece (yet), but look at it as a whole.

Take for example this dream: I was in this beautiful castle, in England! The stone was white washed with little green specks in it. As I walked through the gate I looked down at my hand to see if my grandmothers mothers' ring was still there. It was my lucky ring. Oh no! it was chipped! My ruby ring was chipped! How am I to fix it?

Now, what was the theme of this dream? Something close to me may be in danger, but how can I protect it?

Now that we've got the theme, we need to compare that to something in our lives that pertains to that subject. You can ask your self these questions:

1.)
What thing in my life is special to me?
2.) How could it possibly be taken care of?

Then you can find out how to protect the item . If not, your future dreams may show you.

After that you find the basic symbols in your dream. The symbols in the example dream are:

> Ring.
> Castle.
> Loosing something.

After you have figured out what the symbols are you can start to define them. I suggest the "Dream Dictionary" which is at . I must tell you, these are not the rock solid definitions, they are simply the most common reasonings. If you aren't affected by this symbol in your life, the answer in the Dream Dictionary will be satisfactory.

So, back to the example dream. According to the dictionary that I am using. Ring is under clothing thus it symbolizes your mood or state of mind. In the dream you are feeling exquisite because of the beautiful ring you have on. The beautiful castle symbolizes a happy life. Loosing something symbolizes guarding. This dream is telling you take advantage of the moment, for it my be over too quickly.

This is a very easy way to under stand your dreams. So go out there, dream, understand.
