Thanks to the Friends of the Library and a grant from the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council, the library will host a Teen Web Club. Membership is open to all aspiring artists and writers who are in Middle school and in the library’s service area.
All members will be encouraged to submit their original poems, short stories, short plays or essays for Web publication year-round. A limited number of selected teens will attend Summer Workshops in Web design taught by Rob Kerr and Creative Writing taught by Mike Savage at the library during the summer of 2004.
Summer workshop applications and literary submission forms are available at the library, local public schools, and at http://ironriver.wislib.org. The Teen Web Club web site will debut in August during a Web Release Party open to the general public.

Discover New Trails at the Library
Parents of preschoolers and kids in grades K-5 are invited to follow the Lewis and Clark Trail while they read their way across the U.S.A. Children get a marker that moves across our map of the COUNTRY AS THEY READ OR ARE READ TO. Every child gets prizes from the Library Store for the number of books they read or the number of minutes their parents read to them. And every child can attend the Pizza Party hosted by the Iron River Pizza Parlor at the end of summer.
